Talents variation

Had the opportunity to paint at Westfair Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Illinois. A good friend of mine teaches there. The theme was plugging into the church and the best way to do that is using your God-given talents and gifts.
This was a good time to get back into doing what God had called me to do. It had been awhile since I last painted. Thanks Cal for the opportunity and reminder!

Great, Grand and Glorious

I painted a modified triptych for Woodcrest church in Columbia, Missouri for Easter. For each of the two weeks leading up to Easter Sunday I was videotaped painting the first two pictables. They represent the relationship we had had with God in the garden and then the fall from that relationship when sin came into the world. The video for these two played during the service accompanied by music played by the live band. The third painting was then painted out in the lobby before the Easter services (4 in all) started. The crowd got to connect and literally be inches away from me and the painting. I even got to wear my Easter best to paint in. I got new clothes including a corduroy sports jacket at a thrift store and even made a tie from left over canvas.

Due to a lot of preparation, we already had one full set of paintings finished and dry so that I could finish the rest of the theme. All three paintings were put together and I painted my resurrection Christ over the underlying images. You can see the hands of God are cradling Christ's head and He is even holding onto the cross as well. Overall I was very pleased to be able to create a piece like this and also paint at Woodcrest for a second straight Easter. I love you guys!
